Mid-summer management update

With just a few weeks left until the players return to pre-season training, the Hinckley AFC management team have issued their latest management update…

It’s never really over in non league football.

In just a few weeks, we will be returning for pre season. For every manager at these levels, the hard work has continued since the last ball was kicked.

We have bid farewell to players, who we thank for their efforts in a Hinckley AFC shirt and wish well for the future.

As you will have seen, retentions and new signings have already begun. If we know one thing, it’s that every season starts earlier if you want to be productive.

With the new league and challenge ahead, we have restructured our management team. Ross and Adam have returned to the role of joint managers, with Tulls taking responsibility for all coaching matters as first team coach.

With that, we bid farewell and thanks to Adam Cooper, Dan White and Lee Davies, whose efforts are greatly appreciated. A special mention goes to Dan, who has been a long serving member of the club. We will be advertising for a physio in due course.

With a new challenge comes some unfamiliarity, but there is plenty to be excited about. We are looking forward to welcoming new clubs to our home with good hospitality and, equally, enjoying the away days that you, our loyal and well travelled fanbase, enjoy so much.

Our pre season starts in a matter of weeks. The gates will be open to fans who want to get that early football fix and engage with us and the players. The Hinckley AFC community will have huge emphasis and importance this year, and there will be plenty of opportunities for us all to come together.

For transparency, the club Facebook page is still down. Liam is working incredibly hard to retrieve it because of the legacy information it contains. In the meantime, you as fans have been brilliant in quickly sharing information that we post in the fan chat. This will remain our primary destination for information like this until the club Facebook page is either retrieved or restarted.

We would encourage any fan to message us if you would like to ask questions. At this level, one of the great things about football is accessibility, and it is our belief that we should always remain accessible, through the good times and the bad.

Last season was about consolidation and settling. With the inheritance, churn, turnover and the wait for players to become available from clubs where they were not featuring enough, we had an uphill task.

Given that, we also let a number of games slip that we should have won, which would have stood us in good stead. That will be a valuable lesson for the lads we have retained and signed as we head into a new challenge and a fresh start.

Whatever the level, football is there to be enjoyed.

See you soon.
