Hinckley AFC have secured our number one for the new season with the signing of goalkeeper Oliver Bosworth.
A stopper with plenty of experience of higher levels, Bosworth arrives having spent last season mostly with Mickleover at step four, before ending the season with their league rivals Coventry Sphinx.
The former Leicester City Junior worked with joint manager Ross Innes at the Foxes and the pair have remained in touch since, with that connection proving a key force behind this signing.
During that time, Bosworth earned an England youth call-up in 2019 in which he was in the same squad as Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers.
Having had a spell in Spain after leaving Leicester, he has also played for Barwell, Bedford Town and Shepshed Dynamo.
Innes said: “This is a gigantic signing for the club.
“Boz played under me at Leicester for the vast majority of his journey to a professional scholarship, in which he represented England at Under 18 level.
“Boz and I remained in touch and, to credit Boz, the offers he had on the table were significant, so the fact that he has decided to join what we are building at Hinckley is a testament to him as a character and person.”
Bosworth said: “I’m excited to sign for the upcoming season. After meeting with Ross and Adam, hearing the ambition of the club and about the changing room that’s been put together, it was something I really wanted to be involved in.
“I can’t wait to get started, meet the lads and hopefully give the fans something to cheer about!”
Welcome to Hinckley, Oli!
