Match Preview: Leicester Nirvana (a)

Hinckley AFC head into the final five matches of the season four points off the play-offs and will hope to close that gap with a win away to Leicester Nirvana on Non-League Day.

Hinckley will head to Hamilton Park for the first time hoping to keep their top five ambitions alive, as one of six sides gunning for the final two play-off spots who are separated by just six points.

But it’ll be a depleted Hinckley squad that will make the journey to the north-east edge of Leicester, with George Atwal having joined Bromsgrove Sporting and Harry Walker-Donovan, Lewis Rankin, Lucinee Donzo, Joe Obi and Ky Green all struggling with injury issues.

The opposition

A vastly improved team from the one that Hinckley beat 5-1 earlier in the season, Leicester Nirvana have pulled well clear of the relegation zone in recent weeks.

They have won four of their last five league games, all of those while keeping a clean sheet, to lift themselves up to 13th in the table.

They have also made Hamilton Park a tough place for visiting sides to go – of their 35 points, 25 have been won in home games, and only March Town United have conceded fewer goals in Premier Division South home games this season.

St Neots, Rugby Borough and Coventry United are the only away teams to win there in the league this season, and they were all by a one-goal margin.

From the dressing room

“It’s been a difficult spell for us. We’ve played second and third in the league, who were better teams than us on the day and beat us. Now we’re entering a spell of games that will be difficult, of course they will, but they’re winnable. Leicester Nirvana have improved massively, they really have, and the management team have done a good job there. It’ll be a difficult place to go, but we’ve got to fancy ourselves.”
