A message from the management

A message from the Hinckley AFC management team ahead of the start of the new season this weekend!

“Pre-season draws to a close and we have readied ourselves for the new challenge ahead.

We purposefully set ourselves up for a tough run of games as that is the only way to prepare. You get a realistic picture of what you need to do in order to be successful, so we took squads of 16 for the most part to maximise game time and realism.

We’ve had multiple players away or injured during pre-season, which is to be expected with holidays which are customary and expected at our level. Our business is not yet done and we will continue to strengthen where we feel it’s needed.

We should and will be judged on what happens when the season begins and gets into full flow, and we feel we have recruited well, giving us an opportunity to do as is expected. Our expectations are to be up there come the end of the season, anything less will be deemed a failure by us, which is a healthy pressure. Nobody does this to be middle of the road.

There are a few things to iron out as is the case for every team, but we have a very committed, very honest changing room who hold each other accountable for a good start and a sustained run, starting with our first game against last season’s play-off finalists Newark Town.

We know you will be supporting in huge numbers for the level, and we’re looking forward to it. It’s nice to have a fresh start with a side we’ve built. We have high standards and believe in what we’ve done and who we’ve brought in.

We’re looking forward to new teams, competition, grounds and challenges, and we’re glad you are joining us on the journey. Come positive, because we are!❤️💙”
