Hinckley AFC emerged from their toughest pre-season friendly with a draw after holding step three Quorn to a 2-2 stalemate at Farley Way.
Hinckley came from behind to lead at half time against their recently-promoted hosts, but Quorn levelled again after the break to earn a draw.
Quorn made more of the early running and took the lead midway through the half, when an initial effort came back off the bar but Mason Frizelle was there to turn home from close range.
They then had a second through Adi Yussuf ruled out for offside before Hinckley fought back with two quickfire goals before the break,
First, Luke Jones and Zaki Evans combined to set Jared Bradshaw through on goal, and he finished neatly to equalise.
And then it was Bradshaw again who turned the game in Hinckley’s favour, sending Quorn ‘keeper Tom Allsopp the wrong way from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time.
The second half saw the usual array of substitutions on a hot summer’s evening, in front of a healthy enough crowd of 120.
And they saw Quorn equalise with 15 minutes remaining through a well-taken finish by the impressive Oscar Marshall.
But Hinckley held their own against a side from two leagues higher in the pyramid, ahead of Saturday’s away day to Skegness Town.
