Hinckley AFC hit the road to the seaside for their longest journey of the United Counties Premier North season to Skegness Town on Saturday.
Fresh from beating Leicester Nirvana on Monday night to get their home season off and running, Hinckley make the long journey to the Lincolnshire coast looking to back that up on the road against a side whose start has replicated their own.
The opposition
Like Hinckley and five other sides in the UCL North, Skegness have won one and lost one of their opening two games – a 3-2 loss at Hucknall followed up by a come-from-behind win at home to Deeping Rangers in midweek.
Managed by former Hinckley United striker Gary King, Skegness finished 11th last season but 31 of their 48 points came at home and they didn’t lose to any of last season’s top four at the MKM Stadium.
Lucas Dakin (17 goals) and Declan Johnson (15) were their leading scorers last term and both have already got off the mark in this campaign with goals in the opening week.
