Hinckley AFC made progress in the Leicestershire Senior Cup with a 4-1 victory over ProChance.
They did so with a bit to spare in the end, but not before they had to endure a few uncomfortable moments in the first half.
It was a lively cup tie, both sides playing their part with some excellent goals amongst some positive attacking play on a surface that suited the styles of both teams.
It was ProChance who enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges. They attacked with pace and purpose and Hinckley were grateful to Brandon Bache who made a trio of superb saves to keep his goal intact.
But Hinckley took control of the game with two quickfire goals towards the end of the first half. Reece Jacobs showed great technique as he got in behind the visiting defence and took his shot first time to put AFC in front. And moments later, Chris Camwell drilled home a low precise shot from 25 yards.
Shortly after half time Hinckley made the game safe, Joe Cairns converting on the far post after a typically surging run through the inside right channel from Jack Edwards.
Though Hinckley were in control of the game, the youthful visitors never gave up and got their reward with another fine strike as Jamie Norris found the top corner from the edge of the box.
Hinckley completed the scoring late on thanks to Fortune Sibanda’s crisp finish from 15 yards and ensured they make it through to round two.
