Hinckley AFC are pleased to confirm the return of creative midfielder Chris Camwell.
The former Hereford man, who played at Wembley in the FA Trophy final for them in 2021, spent a brief spell with AFC last October in which he scored three times in five games.
Spells at higher levels with Bedworth United and Quorn followed, his spell at Farley Way particularly prolific as he netted ten in 11 for the side managed by former Hinckley favourite Richard Lavery.
Manager Joe Conneely was delighted to bring Chris back to the club. He said: “Chris needs to settle somewhere. We know how good he is, but he needs to enjoy his football again and get a smile back on his face.
“He offers loads of quality and if we can get the best out of him then we’ve got ourselves a fantastic signing.”
Camwell joined the Coventry City academy at the age of nine, and made his League One debut for the Sky Blues as an eighteen-year-old. He also signed a professional contract with the Coventry Building Society Arena outfit.
He then spent time on loan in the National League with Solihull Moors before dropping into non-league upon his release.
Now 23, the versatile left-footer can also play on the wing or at left back.
He isn’t available for Wednesday’s trip to Nuneaton Griff, and with Saturday’s game postponed it will be more than a week until he can pull on a Hinckley shirt again.
Heading the other way is defender Tarique Hunter, who scored our opening goal of the season but has found minutes more difficult to come by since an injury. We wish him all the best for the future.
Welcome back, Chris!
