Versatile right sided player Danny Harris has joined Courtney Belford’s Hinckley AFC squad as a trio of players leave the club.
The former Atherstone man, pictured above chasing for the ball with Lee Butler, can play at right back, on the wing or in the middle of midfield.
He’s been at Sheepy Road for the last three seasons and made 100 appearances for the Adders during his time there, chipping in with a more than useful 15 goals.
In total, he has played more than 150 games at this level or the level above in the last five seasons, also counting Coventry Sphinx and Nuneaton Griff among his former clubs.
Belford admitted that Harris has been a long time target. He said: “Danny’s someone I wanted to bring in at the start of the season, but he’s only recently become available.
“He’s exciting, he can get the ball down and he can make things happen.
“We’re also down to the sort of numbers we’d like in the squad and the fact he can play in four or five positions will be really valuable for us.”
Meanwhile, Niall Rowe, Shane Benjamin and Sam Reuben have all left the club in recent days. Rowe has returned to former club Romulus, while Reuben has been allowed to find a new club after struggling to nail down a regular starting berth – Belford admitting a player at his age needs to be playing football in order to develop.
Benjamin also leaves with Belford admitting it “just didn’t work out” with the experienced forward as Brady Middleton impressed as a front man. We wish all three the best for the future.
Welcome to the club, Danny!
