A repeat of September’s League Cup win at Lichfield City will be Hinckley AFC’s target when they visit the same opposition in the league tomorrow, kick off 3pm.
AFC picked up a 3-2 win at the City Ground four months ago as Ky Green, Dimitri Dunkley and Isaac Cooper put Courtney Belford’s side through despite a late comeback from the hosts.
Now, they’ll look for a repeat performance and result at the same venue as fourth host seventh in what looks on paper to be an exciting Division One encounter.
Hinckley are still looking to build on the 4-0 win over Chelmsley Town ten days ago, having not played since then, and will move ten points behind Lichfield with three games in hand if they can pick up all three points.
In contrast, a win for Lichfield could put them back up to third and would be their third victory on the bounce, having lost their previous two before then.
They have won 14 and lost seven of their 22 games thus far, and only three sides have scored more goals. James Taylor and the former Hinckley man Keinan Palmer have both netted 11 times for them.
The former Tamworth and LA Galaxy man Kyle Patterson has also impressed for them.
Lichfield play at the City Ground, known for sponsorship purposes as the McDonald’s Community Stadium, Brownsfield Road, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS13 6AY.
