The first month of the season came and went with James Jepson’s new-look squad making it through unbeaten in the league – but who stood out for you?
It’s time to vote for your Sutton Circuit Player of the Month for August, after a month which yielded mostly stalemates, plus a win at Nuneaton Griff and the only defeat coming after extra time at Anstey Nomads.
But who gets your vote for the Player of the Month? Read on to see the nominees before casting your vote…
Goalkeeper Adam Harrison had an impressive month between the sticks despite not keeping a clean sheet during August. The Bedworth United loanee played all four league games and made vital saves throughout, most notably at Nuneaton Griff to ensure a first win of the season.
In front of him, experienced centre back Jason Lee played each of the final four games in the month and formed a solid partnership, whether playing in a pair or a three.
Continuing to move up the pitch, Tom Maddison played at wing back, wide midfield and in the centre during August but offered assured performances wherever he played – including a fine cross from nothing to set up Grant Ryan to start the comeback at Nuneaton Griff.
Speaking of Ryan, he is the final nominee after netting in five of the six games during the month. Four times during August he put Hinckley 1-0 up in a game, the fifth goal coming with a well-taken header from Maddison’s cross to start the comeback at Griff.
The poll is open on our Twitter page for exactly a week, meaning you have until Friday 14th September to cast your vote.
