Midfield man Tait signs on

Hinckley AFC have completed a move for former Carlton Town and Eastwood central midfield man Ryan Tait.

The highly rated and cultured midfielder teams back up with the management team after they signed him briefly for Atherstone Town in their title-winning season in 2022.

A product of the Tamworth academy, where he played alongside Chandler Pegg and ex-AFC men Sam Walton and Jordan Clement, he made a couple of first-team appearances at The Lamb but his first move into men’s football was with Paget Rangers, and then Atherstone.

A move to Carlton at step four followed, where he gained experience as a teenager, before moving to Eastwood in January 2023.

He helped our new league rivals to consecutive top-half finishes in the United Counties Premier North and remained there until the middle of last season, making 75 appearances for the Red Badgers.

Joint boss Adam Davies said: “Comfortable and positive in possession, Ryan will bring a wealth of quality and experience to our group.

“Taity is someone we have always pursued wherever we have been. He is classy on the ball and makes really good decisions, especially in creating chances for others.”

Tait added: “I’m really looking forward to joining the club and getting started.

“Having previously played under the managers, I know the standards they set and the environment they create, so I’m excited to work with them again.

“I can’t wait to contribute to the team and be part of what we’re building together.”

Welcome to Hinckley, Ryan!
