Hinckley World Cup 2017: Quarter Final 4

We’ve had three ties already, now it’s time for the fourth and last quarter final of our #HinckleyWorldCup 2017.
The FA Vase is proving popular with the wins over Berkhamsted and Deeping joining the World Cancer Day win at Cadbury in the semi-finals, but what will join them in the final four? Read on to find out and cast your vote…
Alvechurch 2-1 Hinckley AFC
Bescot outside
Ok, so it was a defeat, but our first time playing at a Football League venue has to be a highlight!
We may not have got there by the traditional means, but the League Cup final saw Carl Abbott’s side take on Premier Division champions Alvechurch at the Bescot Stadium.
And despite the difference in levels, Hinckley had the better of the chances in the first half but couldn’t take them, and Josh March’s double for Church saw them lift the trophy despite Francino Francis’ late strike.

Hinckley AFC 3-1 Leicester Road
7DM26395
With AFC in a rebuilding phase under Dale Belford’s new stewardship, this local derby fell after a narrow defeat to another high flyer in Walsall Wood, and before the FA Vase game with AFC Mansfield.
Belford admitted his side couldn’t afford to lose two straight games before entering the Vase, but that’s how it looked at half time with AFC trailing 1-0 at the break.
The second half, though, was a different game. Two goals for Steve Hart and one for Josh Willis turned the game around and gave Hinckley a fifth win in six games against their local rivals.
