A fifth straight win is the target for Dale Belford’s Hinckley AFC when they make their first ever visit to Brocton tomorrow afternoon.
After those four successive victories, Hinckley carry great confidence into their first Saturday away game in four weeks having beaten Leicester Road, AFC Mansfield, Heath Hayes and Stafford Town in their last four outings.
Tomorrow, they travel to a Brocton side who sit third from bottom of the league, having won three, drawn four and lost eight of their 15 league games thus far.
They have failed to score in their last three games, but did keep a clean sheet in a goalless draw with the then top of the table side, Studley.
They did, though, like Hinckley, reach the qualifying rounds of the FA Cup. They also went out in the first qualifying round before losing to Deeping Rangers – ironically Hinckley’s opponents in the FA Vase next week.
In contrast to their recent struggles in front of goal the reverse fixture in September, Carl Abbott’s last in charge, was a goalfest. George Bowerman and Steve Hart both netted twice in a remarkable 6-4 win in which Joe Hartshorne impressed for the visitors despite their defeat.
Hartshorne and Paul McMahon have both found the net on a regular basis the year, with both into double figures.
Brocton play at Silkmore Lane, Stafford, ST17 4JH. The ground is approximately two and a half miles from Junction 13 of the M6
