Hinckley AFC have been drawn at home to Berkhamsted in the fourth round of the Buildbase FA Vase.
The tie will take place on the weekend of Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th January – with the actual date yet to be confirmed as landlords Heather St John’s are also at home that weekend.
The Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division outfit – at step five of the non-league pyramid – reached the fifth round in last season’s competition before being narrowly beaten by eventual winners Morpeth Town.
That meant The Comrades were exempt from this season’s competition until the second round – easing past Hullbridge Sports before knocking out St Margaretsbury on Saturday.
That’s in stark contrast to Hinckley, who have beaten Holbrook Sports, Greenwood Meadows, Wolves Sporting, Paget Rangers and Quorn to get this far.
Currently sitting sixth in their league, Berkhamsted have scored nine goals in their last two and won five of their last six – but the one they didn’t win was a 6-0 thrashing by Wembley.
It already promises to be a mouthwatering encounter at St John’s Park between two sides confident in front of goal – keep an eye on our official club channels to note down the exact date and kick off time.
