Hinckley AFC go in search of a second away win of the campaign when they visit Stafford Town tomorrow night, kick off 7.45pm.
After back-to-back league defeats to Studley and Lichfield City, Hinckley go in search of the same result as they had at Chelmsley Town two weeks ago when Ben Ashby’s late goal earned a dramatic win.
Stafford have only played four league games so far but have won both of their Tuesday night matches so far, beating Uttoxeter Town and Studley – but have suffered heavy defeats in all of their Saturday matches having lost to Stapenhill, Paget Rangers and Lichfield in the FA Vase.
Their lack of games means that only Brocton – incidentally the only side to have played fewer games – have scored fewer goals but their impressive win over Studley last time out shows their desire to improve on last season, when they were bottom at the time the campaign was cut short.
They haven’t played since that defeat to Lichfield ten days ago and this will be their fifth home game out of six to start the new campaign.
Their Evans Park home, now with a 3G artificial pitch, is a favourite for visiting supporters with a good number expected to travel from Leicestershire.
It’s one of five visits to a 3G pitch this campaign with Chelmsley Town, Paget Rangers, Lichfield City and Kirby Muxloe all with artificial surfaces too.
The ground can be found off Fairway, Stafford, with the postcode for SatNavs recommended as ST16 3ZH. The hosts have requested that supporters do not park at the neighbouring cricket club.
