Players’ leadership group confirmed

Hinckley AFC are proud to confirm our players’ leadership group after our Club Captain and Vice Captain have been decided for the coming season.

AFC stalwart, and now our longest-serving player, Zaki Evans will retain the captaincy – an obvious choice given the role he has played both on and off the pitch across a number of seasons.

Widely regarded as a fan favourite, the management team agreed that Zaki is the perfect man to lead the standards that will required in order to be more successful.

Ross Innes said: “Zaki was someone who bought straight into the way in which we wanted to do things going forward.

“He is the perfect man to hold the changing room accountable going forward, as players managing themselves on the pitch is just as important as our role in managing the club.”

Supporting him, Drew Kear will take up the role of vice captain. A local lad who loves the club, Drew has taken the next step in responsibility in supporting and the players in the changing room.

Adam Davies added: “Drew has been an absolute breath of fresh air since we arrived and he returned, we believe that this accountability will take Drew to the next level he is capable of on the pitch.

“But equally, he has been a huge figure in the dressing room coming together, the social side of the group, and the welcoming of new players to the club. That trait is as important as any, as lads need to get on in order to play well together.”

Congratulations to both players and leaders!
