Jones next to stay for new season

Luke Jones will remain with Hinckley AFC for the new season after becoming the latest player to be retained for 2026/27.

Luke returned to the club from Nuneaton Town in October after just six weeks away but suffered a broken leg in January that ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Now fit again and ready to return to training in pre-season, he will hope to add to his 11 goals in 56 games for the club, having brought up his half-century the month prior to his injury.

“I’m looking forward to getting fit again and getting back in red and blue for another season,” said Jones, who started last season with a bang when he scored once and assisted twice in the FA Cup win over Highgate United.

Joint boss Adam Davies added: “While technically a retained player, Luke is practically a new signing for us and we are incredibly happy that he will be returning for the new season.

“Jonesy was a huge loss for us last year, he is a powerful presence who carries the ball incredibly well off both feet.

“Most importantly he is everything we pride ourselves on, a grafter with quality, who does not leave anything out there when he puts on a Hinckley AFC shirt.”

Welcome back, Luke!
