Davies on March defeat

Joint boss Adam Davies offered his apologies to the supporters after an “abysmal” second half in our defeat to March Town United.

The first half was a closely-fought contest with chances at both ends as the sides went in level, but March raced out of the blocks after half time and scored three times in 15 minutes to secure a comfortable win.

And Davies said standards need to improve ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Nuneaton. He said: “The second half was collectively abysmal.

“We’ve all got to take responsibility for that, looking inwards at ourselves and at the players. The goals we conceded were just basics that were not good enough. You have to take accountability for that. It’s difficult to account for basics once they cross the line but it’s not been good enough across the last two games.

“In any game, you’ve got to make sure you’re doing your bit first. Collectively, as a group, your first response can’t be to look around and see if someone else is doing your job. It has to be for you to do yours.

“Good players are allowed bad games. This is a good group of players and a good group of people. But the second half was beyond poor, and that has to be righted on Tuesday.”
