Hinckley AFC have added to our defensive options with the return of tall centre-back Ben Whitehead.
Ahead of a hectic period of nine games in 29 days, the management team have boosted the ranks in the back line with the return of Whitehead, who has made 58 appearances for the club in his previous spells, scoring two goals.
Whitehead first featured for Hinckley in 2020 as a teenager, but came back the following season and contributed 41 appearances to the side that reached the United Counties Division One play-offs. His only goal that season came in our record-breaking 18-0 FA Vase victory at St Martin’s.
A spell with Rugby Town followed, before a re-joined Hinckley in the summer of 2023 for a brief spell at the start of our title-winning season, which included a goal against Droitwich Spa on the opening day.
He left soon after, joining Heather St John’s, who he helped to the step six play-offs once again last season before linking up with Nuneaton Town in the summer.
He is available to make his return when we take on March Town in the UCL South this weekend.
Welcome back, Ben!
