Hinckley AFC have completed the re-signing of forward player Brady Middleton from Bedworth United.
With Chandler Pegg set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee problem, Joe Conneely and Courtney Hunter-Belford have moved quickly to strengthen the forward line.
Also capable of playing wide, Hunter-Belford says the front man will add a different dimension to the Hinckley attack.
“Brady is similar to what we had with Lewis Collins last season. He can press from front – like we also had with Charlie Evans and Ryan Harkin two seasons ago – and can run in behind but he’s also 6ft plus and can bring others into play.
“He earned a move to Bedworth but found his opportunities limited. We touched base with him and he was desperate to come in, have a run of games and score goals.
“He’s capable of that, and we’re hoping he can do that here. He knows lots of the players already, and he’s one that the fans will enjoy and gives everything he’s got.
“Througy Brady and Tom Weale, we’ll look to ease workload on Mitchell Piggon. We’ve asked a lot of Mitch because of Chandler’s injury, and he’s not ready to play the amount he has done. We’ve not seen the best of him yet but this will hopefully help us get the best out of Mitch too.”
Middleton played eight games for Hinckley before lockdown struck in Hunter-Belford’s first season in charge, before returning to Atherstone and contributing 18 goals to their title charge – only Piggon scored more.
He lined up with Bedworth from Atherstone last season but now returns to Hinckley in search of more regular football.
Welcome back, Brady!
