With 53 games, 36 wins, more than 150 goals and a trophy, this is Hinckley’s 2022/23 in numbers.
In total, those 53 games saw 36 wins, five draws and 12 defeats with 152 goals scored and 69 conceded.
The 36 wins in all competitions is the joint-most in a season, level with 2015/16 and 2016/17. A win percentage of 67.9% is second only to last season (34 wins in 47 games, 72.3% win rate).
Scoring 152 goals in those 56 games means we have now scored more than 120 goals in six of our seven completed full seasons.
The trip to the Bescot Stadium was our first cup final since reaching the same venue in 2017, and a first trophy since the Leicestershire Senior Cup in 2016.
The opening game of the season saw a return to the FA Cup for the first time in five years. An FA Vase run to the second round was our best in the same time span.
Chandler Pegg ended as our leading scorer, with 39 goals in 37 games. Only Seal (56 in 2016/17) and Steve Hart (50 in 2017/18) have scored more in one season. Five players reached double figures for goals (Lewis Collins, Isa Abraham, Lewis Rankin and Tom Weale being the others).
Harry Walker-Donovan made the most appearances for us this season with 49. Ryan Seal is the only outfield player to play more games in one season (50, in 2016/17).
The play-off semi-final attendance of 596 was our second-biggest home attendance ever, beaten only by the 811 at last season’s play-off final. The League Cup final attendance of 700 was the second-biggest crowd to watch a Hinckley match since United folded ten years ago.
Now we turn our attention to 2023/24, which will be our tenth anniversary season.
