Hinckley AFC’s second home game in three days sees another local derby as Lutterworth Athletic make the trip to St John’s Park.
Hot on the heels of Saturday’s comprehensive win over Gedling Miners Welfare, in which Lewis Rankin scored twice, next up it’s one of AFC’s closest geographical rivals.
That game saw Hinckley score six for the first time under Courtney Belford in their biggest win for more than three years. It took the unbeaten run to nine, spanning back to last September, and kicked off their home season in emphatic style.
Now it’s about backing that up, and after a win and two defeats to start their own season, now Lutterworth make the trip for the first ever meeting between the sides.
Athletic lost 5-0 to a flying Belper side on Saturday, and sit 15th in the early season table.
That’s courtesy of a comprehensive win last midweek, beating Kirby Muxloe 4-1 courtesy of a Charlie Adcock hat-trick, having lost out to Hucknall Town on the opening day.
A number of their players will be familiar names, many of them having featured for NKF Burbage during their spell in the Midland League. Those include Oli Bradshaw, who spent last season with AFC.
Kick off at St John’s Park is at 7.45pm.
