After their opening weekend win, Hinckley AFC will look to make it two from two tomorrow when Coventry Copsewood visit the Welfare Ground, kick off 7-45pm.
AFC edged past a well-organised and resilient Heath Hayes side on Saturday thanks to goals in the final 15 minutes from Curtis Townley and Bekir Halil, sandwiching Kieron Nelson’s leveller for the visitors.
And Belford’s side will go in search of consecutive wins to start the season when Copsewood make the short trip to Leicestershire.
Three points for the hosts would mean back-to-back wins for the first time since November’s successes over Hereford Lads Club and Studley – a wait of nine months for supporters who endured a difficult time last season.
But a win would also represent Hinckley’s best start to a league season – never before have they won their opening two league games of a season.
Copsewood were also victorious on the opening day, an impressive 3-1 win at Uttoxeter Town for them in which Ryan Murphy, who spent the second half of last season with Hinckley, was on the scoresheet.
Both games between the sides last season ended in 1-1 draws. Like this one, the meeting in August was AFC’s first midweek game of the season, while Murphy was on target in the reverse fixture in March.
