Hinckley AFC supporters are invited to join the third annual Hinckley2Heather charity bike ride this July in memory of Simon Blyth and Ray Baggott.
In 2017, a group of AFC supporters rode the 12 miles from Hinckley to Heather on bikes to raise funds in Simon’s memory for Cancer Research UK.
And having raised nearly £1400 over the last two summers, this summer it’s time for round three.
This time, after Ray’s sad passing in February, two charities have been chosen – the money going to Hope Against Cancer, chosen in memory of Ray, and MacMillan Cancer Support in memory of Simon.
On Saturday 6th July, the day our Simon Blyth Memorial Cup match against Heather will take place, AFC fans are invited to get on their bikes once again in memory of two good friends and fellow supporters.
Entry is £15 per person, which includes admission to the match and a drink upon arrival at St John’s Park. All riders must be over 18 and must wear a helmet.
The ride will start at The Milestone pub in Hinckley at midday, riding through Dadlington, Shenton and Bosworth Water Park before arriving at The Rising Sun in Shackerstone for the first break around nine miles in.
The remaining four miles to Heather are uphill, but a drink will be awaiting the riders upon arrival at St John’s Park.
Karen Brookes and our friends at Heather will also be putting on a raffle at the game, with proceeds split between the two charities.
