As James Jepson begins to assemble his squad, an important part of that process will be the pre-season programme with five friendlies confirmed so far.
The traditional pre-season opener, the annual Simon Blyth Memorial Trophy match Heather St John’s, will take place on Saturday 14th July at St John’s Park, with a 3pm kick off.
Then follows an away trip to higher level opposition, as step four Gresley provide a stern tests of the pre-season programme at The Moat Ground on Saturday 21st July.
Leading on from that, two trips to fellow step six sides will give Jepson’s side a good indication of their levels, with Melton Town our hosts on Tuesday 24th July followed by a trip to Eastwood Community on Saturday 28th July.
Recently promoted Bedworth United will provide another test of AFC’s mettle during pre-season. Stuart Storer’s side were promoted to step three last season, and will head to the Welfare Ground for our first home friendly on Tuesday 31st July for a 7-45pm kick off.
