FA Vase fifth round: home tie for Marske or Hinckley

If Hinckley AFC can overcome Marske United on Saturday, the reward in the fifth round of the FA Vase will be a home tie against Newport (Isle of Wight) or Bradford Town.
In this lunchtime’s draw made live with Ray Stubbs on talkSPORT2, AFC or Marske were pitted against the winners of the other tie to be postponed on Saturday.
Newport are currently 20th in the Sydenhams Wessex League while Bradford Town play in the Western League, the same as our conquerors from last season Buckland Athletic. They sit third.
Like our tie at Marske, Newport v Bradford was postponed on Saturday so they will try again on the Isle of Wight this weekend.
Now at the last 16, this stage is the first where the draw goes national and is the second consecutive year that AFC have been in the draw at this stage.
The fifth round ties will be staged on Saturday 3rd February, with winners in that round collecting £2250 in prize money and losing clubs getting £750.
Before the possibility of that, though, there is Saturday’s tough trip to the north-east with Richard Lavery and Tom Cherry looking to inspire further progress in Hinckley’s Vase run.
