Hinckley AFC’s brand new Under 18s side will play in the Midland Floodlit Youth League Eastern Division in 2017-18.
The placement was confirmed at the League’s AGM this week, and sees AFC’s youngsters placed in a league with plenty of local derbies to look forward to as they strive for a place in Carl Abbott’s first team.
Managed by Dan Gibson, AFC’s youngsters will be joined in the Eastern Division by fellow new arrivals Coventry Sphinx, Lichfield City and Solihull Moors, while local derbies against Bedworth United, Leicester Road and Nuneaton Griff are sure to whet the appetite.
The Under 18s also have two friendlies lined up in pre-season, with one home and one away friendly confirmed thus far and others lined up. The two games see Gibson’s side face Rugby Town on the 3G pitch at the former Greene King Stadium on Monday 10th July, and Nuneaton Griff away on Wednesday 26th July.
