Francino Francis joins AFC

Hinckley AFC manager Carl Abbott has completed the signing of former Barwell and Tamworth defender Francino Francis.
With injuries aplenty amongst defenders – Mitchell Tomlinson, Jack Farmer and Ryan Paddock are all still unavailable while Kristian Ramsey-Dickson is not yet fully fit either – Abbo has moved quickly to add experience to the back line.
The 29-year-old Jamaican-born centre back – who can also play up front if required – joins from Hednesford Town, where he has been since March.
After being released by Stoke City, Francino made three appearances for Watford 2006-06 in the season The Hornets were promoted to the Premier League, before moving into non-league and joining Redditch United.
Since then, he has played for the likes of Barwell, Tamworth, Chasetown and Hednesford, making more than a hundred appearances for The Pitmen across two spells.
On Twitter, Abbo called the addition “a huge, season defining signing” and will hope that he can strike up a solid partnership with Jamal Clarke at the heart of the defence.
Francino is also available for sponsorship for the remainder of the season, for just £50 you can have your name alongside him on the website and in our matchday programme. To sponsor him, contact our commercial director Jason Tipping: jason.tipping@hinckleyafc.org.uk.
Welcome to the club, Francino!
