The vote for the Easy Laundry Player of the Month for October is now live – but who are you voting for?
October brought four wins, a draw and a defeat for Carl Abbott’s side and the four Player of the Month nominees now need your votes to be crowned the winner.
If you aren’t sure who gets your vote, have a read of our summary below to help you decide…
Midfielder Lee Butler won in August, and is nominated for the third month in a row after another impressive month in the middle of the park. Butler started in five of the six games and was influential in the midfield, and scored the seventh goal on Saturday with a stunning twenty yard free kick. He also won Saturday’s Harrowbrook MOT Centre Man of the Match.
Ryan Seal is the reigning Player of the Month having won in September, and the captain earns himself a place on the list again having played every minute of the six games this month. He won Man of the Match against Pelsall Villa and netted eight goals in October, arguably his most important being a late penalty that rescued a point at Coventry Copsewood. Twenty goals in fourteen games for the skipper so far this season, only Atherstone Town’s Alex Naughton has scored more for a Division One side.
The third nominee is goalkeeper Haydn Whitcombe. The former Littleton stopper kept two clean sheets and made crucial saves at crucial times throughout the month. There were a number of fine stops against Bolehall Swifts, and that magnificent penalty save to deny Dan Westwood against Wolves Sporting in a performance that earned him the Man of the Match award.
Finally, the versatile Mark Williams earns himself a place on the list. A consistent month from the former Nuneaton Griff captain saw him start the month in midfield and end it by partnering Jamal Clarke at centre back, with Williams making a seemless switch into the backline. He played five of the six games, and AFC conceded just one goal in the three games with Williams at centre half.
