Hinckley AFC concluded their pre-season campaign by emerging victorious from a seven goal thriller at Market Drayton Town.
Carl Abbott’s men recorded an impressive first win of pre-season, but had to do it the hard way by coming from behind three times against their higher level opponents.
Sam Agar levelled affairs once and Ryan Seal twice, before Agar netted the winner with ten minutes to go.
In a game that was end-to-end for long spells, it was the hosts who drew first blood and took the lead just six minutes in through Daniel Beddows.
Midway through the half, AFC equalised through Agar but Market Drayton regained the ascendancy ahead of half time through Josh Green.
The first twenty minutes of the second half passed without any additions to the scoreline, but the game burst into life midway through the half with four goals in fifteen minutes.
First, Seal scored his first of the game, slotting home after good work involving Agar and Lee Thomas, but Will Wheildon gave the hosts the lead for a third time on 71 minutes.
Just a couple of minutes later Agar and Seal combined again, the former’s fine work allowing the latter to net a third equaliser for Hinckley.
And after being involved in both of Seal’s goals, Agar returned to the scoresheet with ten minutes to go to give his side the lead for the first time in the match.
And despite some late pressure from Market Drayton, Hinckley held firm to reacquaint themselves with the winning feeling ahead of the FA Cup tie against Heanor Town on Friday.
