Hinckley AFC will aim to extend their unbeaten October into a fourth game when they visit AFC Mansfield’s Forest Town Arena for the first time on Saturday.
A positive month so far has seen Hinckley beat Clay Cross Town in the league and Eccleshall in the FA Vase, before a goalless draw against Hucknall Town.
Now they will aim to take that on the road again with a first ever visit to AFC Mansfield next on the agenda for Chris Tullin’s side.
The opposition
After finishes of fifth and sixth in their last two campaigns, AFC Mansfield have enjoyed another decent start to the season, and though they’re ninth in the table, that’s mostly because they’ve played fewer games than anyone else.
They only won one of their first five games this season, but since late August they’ve won all four of the league games they’ve played – the latest coming 4-1 away at Blackstones at the start of this month.
Since then, they were knocked out of the FA Vase on penalties by Atherstone Town and then won well in the Notts Senior Cup, but haven’t played since that 13th October victory over Rainworth.
Kian Sketchley leads the way with 10 goals, already more than he got in the whole of last season, while Ryan Ingram, who’s been their top scorer for each of the last two seasons, has eight.

The squad competitiveness is there, people are coming in and fighting for their places. We’ll continue to hold ourselves to high standards and look forward to hopefully getting three more points on the board.”
