Last season’s Supporters’ Young Player award winner and leading appearance maker Jacob Shilton has become the latest player to agree to stay with Hinckley AFC for next season.
After a brief dual registration stint the previous season, Shilton joined on a more permanent basis in early September and played every minute of our season thereafter.
His dominant spells at centre-back, as well as that ever-presence on the team sheet, saw him voted as the Supporters’ Young Player of the Season and he’s back for more in 2026/27.
Shilton said: “I’m excited for the season ahead, I think this squad can and will be competing at the top end of the table.
“I trust in the management team to recruit the right players to get us where we deserve to be. I’ve really enjoyed my first season here with all the players and staff and I can’t wait to get into the next one.”
Joint boss Adam Davies added: “Shilts was our highest appearance maker last season and is only getting better and better.
“He returns with more experience, a full season under his belt, and ready to continue to become the colossal presence he was at times last season.
“We say at times, because this lad is capable of so much more too. Pressure is a privilege, and we trust this lad immensely.”
Welcome back, Jacob!
