Hinckley AFC have completed the signing of left-sided defender Danny Fraser from Coventry Sphinx.
The former Coventry Copsewood captain and Racing Club Warwick defender has spent the last three seasons at Sphinx as they started to compete towards the top end of step five.
Equally as comfortable at left-back, wing back or as a winger, Danny has racked up just shy of 300 appearances across steps five and six over the past ten seasons.
The 29-year-old provides a great threat going forward, hitting the back of the net more than 50 times in those games with many of them from defence.
Manager Joe Conneely has worked with Fraser before and is looking forwerd to seeing him in a Hinckley shirt.
He said: “He’s a great kid who’s really passionate and wants to do well. He gets forward well, he’s aggressive and quick.
“He’s also got experience in this league and played higher, so knows this sort of level well.
“He had an injury last year which meant he’s struggled to get back in at Sphinx so we’re really happy to have him on board.”
Having started out at Copsewood, Fraser spent six seasons at Allard Way and became captain for a time, up until a move to step five in 2019.
He earned a Player of the Year award at Racing Club Warwick in his first season at that level, before moving to Sphinx that summer.
There, he had been a mainstay in their line-up until injury over the summer meant he lost his place and has been restricted to just seven substitute appearances this time around.
He’s unavailable for this weekend but will be in contention to make his debut in our Isuzu FA Vase second round tie at Belper United on 12th November.
Welcome to Hinckley, Danny!
