Hinckley AFC winger Lewis Rankin is taking on a demanding running challenge next month to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
On April 14th he will be running four miles, every four hours, for 48 hours to raise funds for a charity close to his heart.
In total, that’s 52 miles over two days – a mental and physical challenge given the lack of sleep involved – but the AFC winger says he’s looking forward to it.
He said: “Like many others, I started running during the first lockdown due to boredom being on furlough. It was also to keep my mind and fitness ticking over but never really thought I’d stick to it.
“I’m not what you would call a really strong runner but it’s something over time I have started to enjoy – kind of!”
With the lack of recovery and lots of running during the night, there are substantial challenges for him but he says they’re minimal compared to what others are going through.
“Prostate Cancer is something that is very close to my heart with currently a family member of mine going through the battle.
“What I’m doing is nothing to what many men suffer with and go through. I want to raise as much as I can to help raise awareness to everybody.”
He’ll be posting his runs, pictures and videos on Facebook and also a new Instagram page.

Good luck, Lewis!
