After more than five years at Hinckley AFC, record appearance maker Lewis Rankin has decided to leave the club.
Ranks pulled on the shirt 167 times since his debut in October 2020 and helped the club to a Midland League Cup trophy in 2023 and the Division One title the following season, in which he was named the Managers’ Player of the Season.
That season, he scored 22 goals, his best tally in a single campaign, and he notched up 58 goals in total to depart as the club’s third-highest goalscorer.
Earlier this season, he was recognised in our FA Cup match against Highgate United in which he overtook Luke Richards’ appearance record.
Joint boss Ross Innes said: “We’re disappointed to see Ranks leave the club, but we completely respect his decision.
“He’s been an unbelievable servant and has played a huge part in creating so many special memories for both the club and our supporters.
“There simply aren’t enough words to fully express the gratitude for his commitment and dedication to the club over the years. Everyone at the club wishes Ranks nothing but the very best going forward.”
Thank you for everything in a Hinckley shirt, Lewis, and all the very best for the future.
