Hinckley AFC can confirm the signing of versatile midfielder Alex Lock.
Lock played against Hinckley for Nuneaton Town earlier this season, playing 11 times for them having spent the early part of this season with Boldmere St Michaels at step four.
Capable of playing across the midfield or in a forward role, he is a powerful and imposing player who has promotion-winning experience from the United Counties Premier South after helping Rugby Town finish second three years ago, and also has higher-level experience with both Rugby and Coventry Sphinx.
He had a brief four-game spell with Hinckley as a youngster on loan from Nuneaton Borough in 2019 during Courtney Belford’s first season in charge, but returns as a much different player ahead of our remaining three months of the season.
The management team said: “In truth Alex ran the show against us for Nuneaton so to capture him at this point is a real coup for us. Alex brings a level of physicality and leadership to our squad and changing room that will be of huge benefit.
“Alex has a brilliant relationship with us going back years and he is a brilliant person as well as a player.
“The fans can be excited about this one, Alex has gained plenty of experience and fans will know what he is all about.”
Welcome to Hinckley, Alex!
