Hinckley AFC continue their week of local derbies with a visit to Hamilton Park to take on Leicester Nirvana on Saturday.
Sandwiched in between localised affairs against Nuneaton Town and Lutterworth Town is an all-Leicestershire clash as Hinckley make the trip to north-east Leicester still looking for their first points of October.
A run of three straight defeats has followed nine unbeaten to start the new management team’s tenure, with AFC looking to arrest that run this weekend.
The opposition
Nirvana started the season brightly, going unbeaten through their first four league games but a run of just one win in 11 in all competitions has seen them endure a tougher couple of months since then.
They sit 15th in the table, with 14 points from their 13 games including three wins, the most recent of which was 3-1 against Godmanchester Rovers at the end of September.
10 of those points have come at home, where they have beaten fourth-placed Moulton and taken points off Daventry Town, Coventry United and ON Chenecks.
But this will be their first game in just under two weeks, since back-to-back defeats to GNG Oadby Town and Easington Sports.
Tamar Clayton-Naute is their leading scorer with eight goals, while their squad also includes former Hinckley right-back Drew Kear.
From the dressing room
“It’s about making sure that we do those basics better to then rely on the quality that we’ve got. We’ve got good footballers who, given the opportunity, will make things happen. To go straight from nine undefeated to three defeats is difficult to take, but just as that run of nine turned around quite quickly, the run of defeats can do so too.”
