Management’s mid-September update

Ross, Adam and Chris have given their latest update from the management following last night’s 4-1 win over Bugbrooke St Michaels…

First off, thank you. Your support home and away has been outstanding, and it drives us on in each and every game.

It’s been 20 days in the role now. In that time, the lads have gone unbeaten in 90 minutes across five games, picking up 7 points from 9 in the league. We believe it could have been 9 from 9, and last night’s performance showed the levels this group is capable of.

Standards are rising. Credit to skipper Zaki and the senior players for leading the group, and to the younger lads – four Under 18s have already made their debuts and more than held their own. That’s a great sign for the club’s future.

We’ve had injuries, new faces each game, and no full session together yet. But thanks to Coops’ mandated running programme, fitness levels will climb and we’ll get sharper.

Change isn’t easy. Performances will ebb and flow, but we won’t pile pressure on the players. We’re here to guide, not to rant.

The expectations are clear:
– Run harder than the opposition
– Win your battles
– Earn the right to play
– Then enjoy it and attack with intent

We’re not fully satisfied, as we want to win every game. But we’re proud of how the lads are buying in and adapting. Sitting sixth gives us a platform to push on and it’s still early days.

To stay open with you, after our first month we’ll host an “Ask Us Anything” and invite you down to watch training sessions. Details will follow soon.

Thank you again for the welcome and support.

Ross, Adam and Tulls
