Hinckley AFC can confirm the return of striker Chandler Pegg to the club.
A familiar face to everyone at Kirkby Road, Chandler scored 39 goals in his first season with Hinckley at better than a goal per game, before a serious injury kept him out of most of last season.
But upon his return, his first goal in eight months was the one that confirmed the Midland League Division One title, as he popped up late to win the game at Heather St John’s.
Having departed in the summer, he now returns from Dudley Town looking to find the form and fitness that he enjoyed with AFC in his first spell here.
Manager Joe Conneely said: “We’re delighted to have Chandler back. If we can get him back to the levels of two seasons ago then we’ve got one of the best strikers around for the level.
“He’s had a tough couple of years with injuries but we believe we can get Chandler back to the form he showed with us when he first arrived.
“We’ve been running with only one striker in the squad recently, and Bryan has been brilliant but it’s not ideal putting so much expectation on a young lad.
“So we needed to get another in to help him and us, and hopefully Chandler can do that.”
Welcome back, Chandler!
