Hinckley AFC will aim to take their impressive home form on the road when they visit Northampton ON Chenecks on Saturday, kick off 2pm.
After notching up a fifth straight home win over play-off chasing March Town United last weekend, they now take on another top-five contender.
And they will be hoping to take their good run in November on the road to close the gap on a Chenecks side who currently sit in the final play-off spot.
The opposition
After going through the whole of September and October unbeaten in the league, 12 games without defeat in total, Chenecks established themselves in the top five.
They remain there now, despite losing two of their last three league games to the teams either side of them, March and Daventry Town.
That defeat to March was their only loss at Billing Road this season, where they have beaten Leicestershire pair Heather St John’s and Kirby Muxloe in the FA Vase.
They have 30 points from their 19 games, including eight wins, to sit fifth, although the table is so congested that there are five sides, including Hinckley, who could move ahead of or level with them if they win their games in hand.
Lewis Irwin is the league’s leading scorer with 22 and provides their biggest goal threat, with Raymond Poku adding eight.
Previous meeting
Irwin and Poku scored Chenecks’ goals at Kirkby Road in September, where they went 2-0 ahead in the first half only for Jared Bradshaw’s debut brace to earn Hinckley a point.
