Hinckley AFC begin their Leicestershire Senior Cup campaign with the visit of Senior League side Magna 73 to Kirkby Road on Monday night.
AFC take a break from the league and will look to quickly bounce back from Saturday’s defeat to Allscott Heath with local cup action to look forward to in midweek.
The opposition
Magna came from behind at half-time to record a 3-3 draw against Hathern in the Senior League on Saturday, their second consecutive stalemate. They are ninth in the table, with three wins and four defeats to add to those two draws.
Arjuna Govia has seven goals in nine games for them this season, while Nicholas Smith has chipped in with four.
From the dressing room
“After a busy start to the season for us, this might give us a chance to have a look at a few people who have been on the fringes of the team through August and September as well as give a few minutes to lads who need them. We had a few of the youth team lads in training recently.
We want to win the game and are preparing to win it, but if we can give a few of the youth team lads some minutes, introduce them to what first-team football is all about and prepare them for that. Other lads are coming back from injuries and have been starved of minutes.”
