Another first v second clash awaits Hinckley AFC this weekend as Joe Conneely and Courtney Hunter-Belford take their side to face Allscott Heath.
The trip to the Shropshire sees AFC, the league’s leaders and top scorers, head to an Allscott Heath side who are second in both of those metrics.
And after back-to-back big home wins, Hinckley now look to continue their unbeaten away start to the season ahead of what, on paper, is the toughest trip yet.
The opposition
Allscott won the West Midlands Regional League last season to earn a place at step six for the first time, and they have continue their excellent form into this campaign.
With seven wins, a draw and three defeats from their opening 11 games, the Shropshire side have won four of their six home games so far. Last week they were 2-0 up at home to Stapenhill, who then hit back after half-time to take a 2-2 draw.
Their games have mostly been packed with goals – two 6-3 results, a win at Shawbury and loss to Droitwich, as well as a 4-3 win over Ingles on the opening day. They have only kept two clean sheets, but have scored in all of their 11 league matches. Ryan Mansell has seven goals already and Tom Fallon has chipped in with five.
Previous meetings
This will be the first ever meeting between the two sides, having never met before and Allscott promoted to step six for the first time this season.
