Manager Joe Conneely has chosen Sam Walton as Hinckley AFC’s vice-captain behind club captain Lewis Rankin.
The centre-back has earned a respect among the dressing room since joining earlier this season and will now lead the side out when Rankin is not on the field.
On the appointment, Conneely said: “We spoke to Tom Weale about it – he doesn’t need to do it because he’s a massive presence already, and he gave us his blessing to hand it to over.
“Sam’s a leader, a commanding defender and he’ll relish the responsibility.”
