After Saturday’s postponement, Hinckley AFC will have a second go at recording a sixth straight win in their first ever meeting with Coton Green.
Hinckley’s final match before Christmas sees the newly-promoted Staffordshire side make the short trip down the A5 to Kirkby Road after also seeing their weekend match called off.
In fact, it’s been more than two weeks since they last played a game and they’ve only played one league match since 22nd November.
That was their most recent outing against Stapenhill a fortnight ago, in which they came from 2-0 down to salvage a draw courtesy of two goals from substitute Ryan Conlon.
He has eight goals this season but their biggest goal threat has been former Hinckley man Matt Gardner. The striker, who helped fire Lichfield to promotion during the shortened seasons, has 18 goals to his name so far. They have also been solid defensively and only four sides have conceded fewer goals.
Coton had an impressive start to the season, but have just slipped back from the play-offs after a run of four league games without a win. They lie tenth, 11 points behind AFC in their debut season at step six.
Hinckley, meanwhile, will look to continue the momentum from ending OJM Black Country’s ten-match winning streak last weekend – when Tom Weale’s penalty earned his side a fifth straight win in stoppage time.
