Hinckley AFC will look to extend their winning run to six games on Saturday with a win over a Smethwick Rangers side who were the last to beat them in the league.
AFC take on their final away game of 2022 with a trip to the West Midlands, subject to a morning pitch inspection.
Hinckley made it five wins on the bounce last week with a dramatic win over fellow in-form side OJM Black Country – as Tom Weale’s late penalty strengthened AFC’s position in the play-offs.
That extended their perfect record in the league since losing to tomorrow’s opponents Smethwick at Kirkby Road at the start of November.
That, incidentally, was Smethwick’s last win – they have suffered four straight defeats since then to slip to 16th in the table. They are, though, just five points behind 11th, such is the congested nature of the lower-mid area of the table.
Hinckley hit the woodwork six times that afternoon, as Dylan Green’s brace and one for Lucas Edmonds earned the West Midlands side the win.
Adam Nazir was kept quiet that day, but his 13 goals are a club-high this campaign for the side who have scored plenty of goals, but conceded plenty too – no side has conceded more than they have.
