Manager Joe Conneely says it will be nice to see some familiar faces as Hinckley AFC face his former club Coventry Copsewood on Monday evening.
Conneely goes up against one of his former sides in a competitive fixture for the first time as a manager with his Hinckley team looking to back up Saturday’s win against fellow play-off hopefuls Droitwich.
That’s a result that left them nestling just inside the top five and a win on Monday would move AFC level on points with fourth-placed Black Country.
Now, they face in-form Copsewood and Conneely says the visitors will be a side full of confidence after an impressive recent run.
He said: “They’re a young, energetic side with a few experienced players dotted in where they need them. PJ (manager Petajon Gordon) is doing well there having taken a few lads from their second team into the first team.
“It will be nice to see a few old faces. They’ll be fearless and have a go at beating us. It could be an open game with plenty of chances.”
Copsewood had a weekend with no match, but extended their unbeaten run on Tuesday evening, when they came from 3-0 down to salvage a late draw away to Coton Green.
That will only further boost their confidence after four straight wins before that, including victory away to Wolves Sporting. Bryan Kohyrelon, with nine goals so far, and Ryan Pedley with seven are their leading marksmen. Of all sides outside the top four, only Droitwich have scored more goals.
