Hinckley AFC return to league action looking to leapfrog opponents Chelmsley Town in the table at Kirkby Road on Monday evening.
Hinckley’s first home league game in four weeks sees Joe Conneely’s side targeting a sixth consecutive victory on home turf.
Friday night’s FA Vase win over Stafford Town was a fifth in a row, provided by Chandler Pegg’s late goal in his first game since joining from Lichfield.
Now, it’s a return to what Conneely called “the bread and butter” of Division One action with the visit of Chelmsley.
His side sit 14th, with three wins and two draws from their seven games so far.
But, for a number of reasons, Hinckley have played at least three league games fewer than every team above them in the table.
One of those is Chelmsley, who sit 13th and one place above Hinckley, but three successive defeats have seen them slide down a touch after an impressive start.
They’ve won four and drawn one of their opening 11 games to leave them with 13 points on the board so far. Three of those four wins came at their Pack Meadow home, with a victory on the road at Heath Hayes.
A win for Hinckley would see them leapfrog tonight’s opponents and climb into 13th, with those games in hand still to come.
