Hinckley AFC have signed attacking player Chandler Pegg from Lichfield City.
The 21-year-old has spent the start of this season with Lichfield and all of the last campaign in their debut season at step five.
He netted 11 times last season despite just six of his 29 appearances being from the start, and scored his only goal of this campaign against Belper United in the FA Cup.
A winger who can also play centrally, he has played twice for Hinckley before – having had two one-game spells on loan from Tamworth before the pandemic hit. He featured against NKF Burbage in 2019 and Coventry Copsewood in 2020.
Pegg became the youngest player in Tamworth’s history when he made his debut for the Lambs in a National League North game at Alfreton in 2017, just days after his 16th birthday.
He made a handful of appearances for Tamworth at steps two and three but continued to impress for their academy before dropping into the lower levels.
In doing so, he gained step five experience in brief spells with Romulus and Highgate United, and plays for the same Sunday team as AFC goalkeeper Brandon Bache.
He was an unused substitute for Lichfield in their FA Vase tie last month and is therefore eligible to make his debut in Friday night’s match against Stafford Town.
Welcome to Hinckley, Chandler!
