Hinckley AFC are delighted to confirm the return of midfielder Jack Edwards.
The combative 21-year-old scored 12 times in 42 games for the club last season and was a key member of the side that finished second in the United Counties Division One.
Such was his impact in the middle of the park, he picked up the Supporters’ Young Player of the Year and Manager’s Player of the Year in what was his first full campaign of men’s football.
He departed for Atherstone Town in the summer but returns after a handful of substitute appearances at Sheepy Road.
Manager Joe Conneely said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring Jack back to the club.
“We’ve missed Jack a fair bit all season, with everything that he offers and the fans know everything that he’s about.
“It didn’t work out for him at Atherstone but we’re so pleased he’s come back.”
In total, Jack’s scored 13 times in 52 games for Hinckley and captained the side in our record-breaking 18-0 win last season.
He’s also played at step six for Coventry Copsewood under Conneely before he made the move to Hinckley.
Leaving the club is Ryan Slinn, who will join last season’s league rivals Barrow Town. Slinn scored seven times in 17 games for Hinckley, including a hat-trick at Borrowash Victoria and a superb solo effort at Harrowby United. All the best for the future, Ryan.
Welcome back, Jack!
